TODAY THE "IVAN RADOEV" DRAMA AND PUPPET THEATRE PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE HEROISM OF THE REVOLUTIONARY, POET AND PUBLICIST HRISTO BOTEV
„He who falls in the fight for freedom
does not die: he is mourned
by earth and sky, by beast and nature,
and singers sing songs of him...“
Today the "Ivan Radoev" Drama and Puppet Theatre pays tribute to the heroism of the revolutionary, poet and publicist Hristo Botev, who fell 148 years ago for the freedom of Bulgaria!
With a solemn ceremony before the monument to Hristo Botev, the city of Pleven will mark the memorial day for all Bulgaria – 2 June! The tribute begins at 11:30 with a military ritual and the participation of servicemen from the Pleven garrison, as well as a memorial service held by the priests of the Pleven churches.
To the sounds of the patriotic songs performed by the children of the "Zvanika" choir, conducted by Vanya Deliyska, the city of Pleven and its residents will lay wreaths and flowers as a sign of gratitude to the heroism of Hristo Botev and all who fell for the freedom of Bulgaria!
At 12:00, with a minute’s silence and the wail of sirens, all Bulgaria will once again bow its head before the self-sacrifice of Bulgaria’s heroes!
