FIRST "SHKOLA" INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL

From 28 June to 3 July 2024, the "Ivan Radoev" Theatre, Pleven, will present the pilot edition of the "Shkola" International Theatre Festival.

The idea of the festival is to acquaint the city’s audience with contemporary theatrical forms and, at the same time, to give young Bulgarian artists the opportunity to build on their knowledge by acquiring new skills.

This will be an educational theatre forum with international status, at which various professionals will be able to meet.

The special educational programme will, on the one hand, acquaint the audience with the current trends in the various performing arts, and on the other, give young artists the opportunity to improve their practical skills through the meetings and lessons of world-renowned professionals in the field of theatre art.

The festival participants will have the opportunity to see some of the most interesting theatre performances and to take part in master classes by significant figures of world culture, such as Ingeborga Dapkunaite, Ivan Estegneev, Data Tavadze, Yuri Butusov, Simon Stokes. The Bulgarian representatives in this palette of theatre educators will be the actor of the „Ivan Vazov“ National Theatre, Yulian Vergov, and Dr Desislava Stoycheva, lecturer in Arts Management at the „Kr.
